Other NT construction industry reforms
In addition to a portable long service leave scheme, the Northern Territory Government has introduced the following construction industry reforms:

• Home-warranty insurance to protect homebuyers against unfinished work
• Security of payment for sub-contractors
• Licensing of principal contractors in residential construction

Northern Territory Long Service Leave Act
This LSL Act applies to private sector employees in the Northern Territory who are not provided with LSL coverage under an alternative employment provision, including other construction industry workers not covered by the new Construction Industry Long Service Leave and Benefits Act.

This Act is available for downloading or view on the Northern Territory Government legislation database (www.dcm.nt.gov.au/strong_service_delivery/supporting_government/current_northern_territory_legislation_database).
